We have had quite a lot going on over the last few weeks. The speaker on June 4th was Lyn Miles who gave a question-and-answer session and told us all about her garden at Boscombe, throughout the year. Unfortunately, there was an equipment failure in the Hall again, so Lyn valiantly kept it all going.
We have had a trip to Holme Gardens, on the Isle of Purbeck. 15 acres to meander and explore, both informal and formal with wild areas. Simon, the owner, showed us around. The restaurant and nursery of course had to be tried too!
By the time you read this, we will have been to Kettle Farm and Athelhampton House to complete our visits this year.
On August 6th, our meeting will be a social occasion at the village allotments, starting at 6.30pm. Please bring along a picnic, and chairs, there will be drinks provided. Let’s hope for good weather!
There will be no open Flower & Produce Show this year on September 5th, (our 20th Show will be next year!), however we will be having a fun ‘in house’ for members only, ‘5 items show’, on September 3rd in the Parish Hall, (our normal evening). Details will be sent out nearer the date.
