Battle of Ethandun Commemoration

We are investigating organising a celebration in 2028 for the 1150^th anniversary of the Battle of Ethandun. This defining battle shaped the course of English history, and our village, and so we hope to celebrate it in style with a programme of events, perhaps including a re-enactment, talks, music, performances, craft displays and more. But these things don’t organise themselves, and so we are seeking volunteers to form an organising committee.

Areas that will need committee volunteers to provide their help will include: Publicity & Social Media; Finance & Grants; Infrastructure & Facilities (loos, car parking, stalls etc), Event Programme; Participant Liaison (re-enactment groups, blue-light services etc); and a committee Chair to coordinate it all.
