Seven members of the Edington Village Volunteer Group met on the 18th March to carry out various useful village maintenance activities. Thanks are due to Martin Gamage, Eric Mitchell, Andrew King, Andrew Trigg, Adrian Bate, Roger Binney and John Richardson.
The village pond was surprisingly clear of weed, no doubt benefitting from our clearance activity last autumn. So we concentrated on the surrounding areas. All of the adjoining grass areas were strimmed back and now look very smart. The paths from this area up to the main road, down to Tinhead Road and on to The Weir were swept and cleared of debris. The volume of material cleared and removed never ceases to amaze us.
This month’s tea break featured an incredibly tasty coffee and walnut cake, yet again baked by Jan Richardson. The group meets for a couple of hours at 9:30am on the third Wednesday of each month to carry out maintenance and improvement works around the village. We always welcome new members – were a very friendly bunch and there’s usually cake. If you would like to join us for any month’s activity, please drop a note to john.richardson32@outlook.com, who will be pleased to give details of our sessions. We will next be meeting at 9.30am on Wednesday 15th April.
