Edington Priory Church Choir

Edington Priory Church Choir

Who are we?

We are a mixed group of women and men, divided into four voices – Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses. Most of the music we sing is written in four parts. Much of the music is accompanied by the organ, but we also frequently sing without any accompaniment.

We sing for services in the church every week. On three Sundays each month we sing at the morning Holy Communion service and on two Sundays we sing Evensong. We also sing for special services e.g. at Advent and Christmas, during Lent, Easter and Remembrance Sunday. Our role is to lead the people in worship, and we sing hymns, psalms and anthems.

Do You Like Singing? – Come and Join Us!

If anyone out there enjoys singing, why not give the Church Choir a try? Some experience of music-making would be useful, but we provide lots of resources to help our members learn the music, and we won’t put you through an audition!

We meet every Thursday evening, from 7pm to 8.30pm to practise. Give me a ring, and come and join us one Thursday – we promise to give you a warm welcome.
